Blastco is currently removing and replacing the protective coatings to approximately 85,000 square feet of wharf sheet piling for the Port of Houston. The new coating that is being applied is a 100% solids Chevron product that requires plural component spray application. Due to access requirements this product has to be sprayed through 300 feet of heated line maintaining 150 degrees F to the mixing head and gun. The longest hose length the product was sprayed through before this project was 50 feet. Blastco custom built the pump to meet the requirements of the project. Blastco also fabricated barges for work access and blast containment specifically for this project. Blastco is completing this project with no interruptions or shut downs to the Port of Houston Operations which is one of the busiest in North America. |
